Vandals set binsalight in village
Vandals are exacerbating an ongoing litter problem at Northiam’s Goddens Gill by vandalising and setting fire to bins.
Northiam Parish Council discussed the litter problems, which increased over the summer.
Parish Clerk Sue Keighley said: “The council is reluctant to spend further village funds on litter bins and notices because they have proved ineffective in the past.
Recently installed bins have been set alight and vandalised.
“The council is to discuss the issue with businesses from whom packaging let there emanates.”
