Vehicles seized in driving crackdown

The cars were confiscated on July 5 as part of a "hard-line" crackdown on anti-social driving in the town.

Owners will have to pay 100 to get their cars returned, as well as facing action over any driving offences committed.

If they cannot pay, the vehicles will be destroyed.

Inspector Steve Eldridge of the Safer Worthing Team said: "There is a continual problem of vehicles being driven at high speed and making a noise nuisance in particular around Teville Gate and Splash Point.

"We are looking at the longer term issues such as the environment and education of the drivers as well as taking a robust approach to enforcement."
