Veterans of D-Day attend Armistice Day service
D-DAY veterans were in Rye last week attending an Armistice Day service at St Mary’s Church
Seven D-Day veterans joined members of Rye Royal Legion Women’s Branch for the brief 11am service and two minutes silence on Thursday.
Christopher Broadbent, from Beckley organises the visit each year.
He said: “The veterans have made it an annual trip to Rye and Beckley for the last few years.
“We then take them to lunch at the Rose and Crown at Beckley.
