VIDEO: Fire crews search after people reported to be trapped in blaze

East Grinstead Fire and Rescue Service was called out to reports of a fire in East Grinstead this morning (March 25), a spokesman has confirmed.

Two people were reported to be trapped in the fire in De-La-Warr Road, East Grinstead, but were found ‘elsewhere’, according to East Grinstead Fire and Rescue Service.

A spokesman for East Grinstead Fire and Rescue said: “There was smoke issuing out of the building on arrival and two people were reported to be inside.

“Six breathing apparatus, three hosereels and one jet was used to search.

“The fire was extinguished and all missing people were located elsewhere.

“Crews were supported by Crawley Fire and Surrey Fire and Rescue Service.

“The incident is now closed.”
