VIDEO: Horsham pub getting £40,000 ‘regeneration’

A Horsham pub is getting a £40,000 ‘regeneration’ to restore its ‘historic’ presence in town, said its new landlord today (Thursday November 7).

The wooden floors at The Malt Shovel, Albion Way are being relacquered, the toilets refurbished and a ‘sap in the beer’ tree has been removed.

Sam Clayton, 33, Horsham father-of-five and the landlord, said: “I’ve been calling it the regeneration for a bit of fun.

“I think the Malt Shovel has got a good reputation historically but it’s started to die away but now I’m here to take ownership of it and add a bit of pride.”

The husband has run the pub with his wife Marie-Clare for the last three months.

He will hold a relaunch event at the end of November.
