VIDEO: Medieval Midhurst is a raging success

For the second year running Medieval Midhurst proved to be a raging success with families, injecting life into the ancient Market Square.

Melanie Burgoyne is the rural towns coordinator at Chichester District Council.

She said residents and tourists alike had got involved with all the action.

“We had a really enjoyable two days,” said Melanie.

“On Saturday the weather was kind to us and everybody enjoyed the activities on offer.

“It was a little bit quieter on Sunday but we are certainly looking forward to doing it all again next year.

“It was organised by Michael Chevis and the Midhurst Town Team and supported by the district council and the South Downs National Park Authority.

“The church also got involved.

“Children really loved watching the combat and archery and I think the event really captured the imagination of people from across the area.

“We even had a group of people come along from Canada.”
