VIDEO: Paralympian Ellie Simmonds opens Worthing’s Splashpoint pool
PARALYMPIC star Ellie Simmonds has officially opened Worthing’s new Splashpoint pool this morning in front of dozens of excited guests (Thursday, June 20).
The four-time gold medallist signed autographs for fans, toured the multi-million pound facility and was treated to a synchronised swimming display.
Welcoming her to Worthing, council leader Paul Yallop said: “A big welcome to Ellie Simmonds. We are all really proud to have her in Worthing today.
“It has been a huge team effort building this pool. I am delighted to be standing here after so many years.”
