VIDEO: Protest rally against new homes across Arun

CAMPAIGNERS protesting plans which could see thousands of home built in Arun’s villages have made their voices heard.

Members of the Villages Action Group and other residents from the area were joined in their fight tonight (Wednesday, April 30) by MP for Arundel and the South Downs Nick Herbert.

The hundreds of protesters made their stand outside the Civic Centre in Littlehampton.

The action came ahead of a crucial debate inside Arun District Council’s chamber by all its members which started at 6pm.

Councillors have been recommended approve their local plan which sets the level of housebuilding in the district for the next 15 years.

The proposals in the plan would earmark Barnham, Eastergate and Westergate for some 2,000 homes while Angmering would take 600.
