View giant steam engines

Giant Victorian steam engines will be in action at Brede again on Saturday March 7.

The engines are based at Brede Water Works, situated in the Brede Valley.

They have been lovingly restored by Brede Steam Engine Society who now hold monthly open days.

The engines were once used to draw water from a well below the valley floor which supplied the Hastings area.

There are other exhibits including old water records.

The Open Day runs from 10am - 4pm. Admission is free and there is ample free parking.

Brede Waterworks are signposted from the A28 at the top of Brede Hill, by St George’s Church.

Refreshments will be served throughout the day.
