CHURCH SERVICE: Sunday, at St Peter's Church, 10.15am Sunday School in the church hall, 10.30am Family Communion followed by coffee in the hall.

PARISH COUNCIL: East Chiltington PC met on November 7 in Plumpton Village Hall. The minutes of the meeting held on September 12 were discussed and council agreed that min 9/18/15 should include: at the request of a resident, the Facebook link to the East Chiltington Facebook group will be removed from the parish website and then the minutes would be signed as a true record. Cllr Tingle requested that minutes on the wwebsite should be marked Draft until approved. Cllrs considered the budget and precept requirements and agreed to request a precept of £5336 for 2019/20.

PLANNING MATTERS: Council noted and discussed the following applications. LW//0592 Greensand, Chiltington Lane. Proposed detached single storey garden studio/library. The PC made no comment on this application. Decisions by LDC. LW/18/0509 and LW/18/0558 Upper Burrells, Chiltington Lane. Listed Building Consent Application. Replacement and repositioned greenhouse. Granted. SDNP/18/03010/HOUS The Grange, Novington Lane. Build a greenhouse for personal domestic use. Granted. SDNP/18/03339/HOUS the Grange, Novington Lane. Proposed two storey side extension, single storey rear extension and internal alterations. Granted. SDNP/18/03817/HOUS Novington Oak, Novington Lane. Single storey extension. Refused. LW/18/0508 Upper Burrells, Chiltington Lane. Listed Building Consent. Replacement windows to orangery, table and studio block. Granted. Prior Notification Works. LW/18/0375 and LW/18/0381 can be carried out lawfully at Hurst Barns Farm, Chiltington Lane. LW/18/0381 creation of a pond and re-profiled field and LW/18/0375 forestry workshop. Cllr Tingle had circulated a response from CPRE on the Draft Lewes District Local Plan oart 2, which made a request for appropriate modifications by LDC.

TECT: There will be an orchard work day on Sunday November 25, a Wassail on January 12 and a Quiz Night in February. TECT deeds have been amended as agreed at the PC meeting on July 12.

WEBSITE ADMINISTRATOR: Cllr Symes is to train to become a website administrator for the council. Cllr Farmelo will refresh his website use.

HIGHWAYS: Cllr Tingle said the November SLR meeting was postponed until January 2019. Highways concerns were raised by Cllr Tingle at a meeting with ESCC on September 20 and a reminder was sent to ESCC on November 6 regarding the junction of Honeypot Lane/Novington Lane and other issues. LDC have removed the damaged street name. Wildflower verges in the parish should have bee cut and cleared in September but this has not been carried out. Cllr Funnell is to contact ESCC. A resident had contacted the PC asking about wildflower verges. ESCC have replied that mowing is still required.

HOLLYCROFT: Devolution of Land at Hollycroft. The survey results have been circulated and a summary put on the website and in the newsletter. 98 percent of residents were in favour of devolution, with only one household feeling that the PC should not accept the LDC offer. The chairman proposed that EC PC should now progress the proposal with LDC and this was unanimously agreed. EC PC will give notice to Andy Frost as soon as possible in order to remove EPC from the mowing contract.

DEFIBRILLATOR: Cllr Funnell has now received the defibrillator and case. This will be located at the Jolly Sportsman and Cllr Funnell will discuss the details of this with Bruce Wass.

DATA PROTECTION OFFICER: Clr Nurse recommended that Cllrs should have dedicated PC email addresses. As there are elections in May, the chairman will look at cost implications of changes to addresses. The chairman has indicated that she will not stand again in May.

The next meeting of East Chiltington PC will be on Wednesday January 9 in the smaller meeting room, Plumpton Village Hall at 7pm.
