Unhappily we were informed that one of our long-time members had died and two ladies agreed to represent us at the funeral.

It was reported that the walk to Ovingdean in September was much enjoyed, particularly the stops for coffee and lunch, so much so that another has been arranged for November. Hope the weather is fine.

After the general meeting, the Annual Meeting commenced with details of the past year’s activities given by the Treasurer and Secretary, after which the President thanked those who had assisted in her first year of office.

Then came the excitement of the afternoon. Since the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were due in Peacehaven, members were given leave to go to the Joff to get a glimpse of the couple. We did see them, but briefly, however it was worth the wait, with the crowds. Then back to the remains of the meeting and tea which we had missed earlier.

Our next meeting will be on November 7, why not come and join us, you never know what might happen. (Joy Allen)
