ST. MARY’S: The Fourth Sunday of Advent is celebrated at 8am Holy Communion and at the 10am Eucharist as the quiet anticipation of Jesus’ birth continues. At 6pm, the two Ringmer Churches come together in the Village Hall for Carols and Readings by Candlelight – do come along to celebrate the Christmas story. On Christmas Eve the Crib Service at 4pm will be exploring the “Mystery of the Noisy Neighbours”. Children and families of all ages are welcome to this lively re-telling of the Greatest Story! The Midnight Eucharist starts at 11.30pm – it really is a magical service, the busyness of the day coming to a stillness and hush ready to welcome Jesus into the world. And after a few hours’ sleep, we will be welcoming you to a Christmas Day Family Service at 10am, followed by a simple Holy Communion Service at 11am. Services on Sunday 30th December – 8am Holy Communion and 10am Eucharist – the Christmas season continues as we await the arrival of the Wise Men on 6th January!
BRIDGE CLUB: At its meeting on Wednesday, 12 December the result of the duplicate pairs played was 1st, Lesley Durrant & David Warner; joint 2nd, Hazel North & Hugh Bailey and Barrie Smith & Alan Grindley. Contact 07821 379313 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
CAROL SINGING: The Ringmer Support Group will be singing carols outside Ringmer shops on Christmas Eve from 10 am for about an hour, all in aid of St Peter & St James Hospice. All are welcome to join us -the more the merrier! We look forward to seeing (and hearing!) you there.
AND FINALLY: Thank you to all the contributors to this column throughout the year. You make our community function by letting us all know what you doing. Thank you also to those who read this, especially those from outside the village. May I wish you all a Happy Christmas and a Peaceful New Year.
