Vintage bus cash goes to the RNLI

Stagecoach has donated the proceeds from the town's vintage Christmas bus service to the Eastbourne RNLI lifeboat station.

The Christmas bus was an initiative between Stagecoach and Eastbourne’s Chamber of Commerce.

The service provided a link between the bandstand, town hall and town centre and 
operated for a week in mid December during the Neon Noel and Christmas market festivities.

Stagecoach charged just £1 a ride with all the proceeds going to the Eastbourne RNLI.

A total of £159 was raised.

Paul Metcalfe, Eastbourne’s Lifeboat operations manager, said ,“We welcome all the support we get, particularly when local businesses get together to do something in the community.

“It was a great idea to run the Christmas bus and we were delighted to hear that we were to receive the proceeds.”
