Sarah Wickens, a director of Store Property Holdings, landlord for many of the Rustington’s retailers, said: “The new Waitrose store is exciting news for Rustington.

“The village already offers wonderful choice for shoppers in a beautiful environment to visit, with more than 80 local stores including high street names and inspiring independent boutiques, plus plenty of free parking, so we believe this will make it an even more popular shopping destination.”

The Rustington store will open its doors to the public at 8am.

The shop will run a click-and-collect service for those shopping at John Lewis online.
