Warning over shed break-ins

POLICE are asking residents to keep their sheds and outbuildings secure following a small rise in break-ins in the Battle area.

As the nights draw in, there has been an increase in the theft of gardening tools, including strimmers, chainsaws and leaf blowers.

Sergeant Paul Masterson, of Battle police, said: “If people have got this sort of equipment, lock it away safely and take some additional precautions whilst we tackle this problem.”

Sgt Masterson added that if anyone sees any suspicious vehicles in their area to call police immediately so officers can check it out.
