Several schools were forced to close and concerns were raised over supplies at Eastbourne District General Hospital (DGH). The NHS later confirmed the DGH wasn’t impacted, and the schools have now reopened.

South East Water said it ‘carried out valve operations at a nearby site to rectify the issue.’

Supplies were fully restored by 8.46am on Friday (April 17), according to the water company.
