We salute: East Preston Festival's success

THE picture was one of a traditional English village green as East Preston Festival celebrated its 26th year with community spirit and family gatherings.

The event, which ran for nine days from June 6 until Sunday (June 17) was well attended and festival committee chairman Ray Leggett said it was attended by at least 2,000 to 2,500 people.

Successes this year included the dog show and croquet on the village green on Sunday.

Mr Leggett said: "The village green looked how an English village green should look, with the dog show, croquet and the Pimms tent.

"This was the 26th year and it gets better and better every year."
