Wealden UNA service

THE annual service held by the Wealden branch of the United Nations Association took place on Sunday in St Margaret s Church, Buxted.

The visitors, who were welcomed on behalf of the rector by Canon Bill Peters, included past and present Wealden MPs Sir Geoffrey Johnson Smith and Charles Hendry, plus ESCC chairman Michael Tunwell and Wealden District Council chairman Norman Buck.

The Rev Bruce Hayllar preached on the theme of the 46th Psalm - God is our strength and refuge in time of trouble. He pointed out that this belief was common to Jews, Muslims and Christians alike.
