We're infested by those Little Hitlers again...

It is surprising no one has so far commented that, in her spat with her contemporary councillors, Cllr White has invoked what is undoubtedly one of the most iniquitous pieces of legislation ever to be foisted on this country, implemented by the Standards Board of England.

The terms of that legislation so often effectively debar from debate those councillors best able to contribute to it, thus depriving their electorate of its representation.

Throughout the land it has caused nothing but dissent, and had been the means, as in Cllr White's case, of needless waste of money and time, in total running into months of legal activity costing millions of pounds.

This state of affairs is aggravated by the fact it was introduced by John Prescott, one of the greatest clowns ever to find himself in the House of Commons and whose main claim to fame is that he has accomplished for our merchant navy what Hitler and his Admiral Doenitz failed to do all those years ago.

The legislation in question is one more example of the interfering nature of the current government which would control every aspect of our lives, to the delight of every busybody in a position of power, however minor.

Those of us who can remembers the immediate post-war years when the nation was infested by '˜Little Hitlers' are now seeing the same state of affairs developing.

The perpetrators should remember Winston Churchill was returned to power with the slogan '˜set the people free'.

Cllr White is contemplating bringing the full force of the Disability Discrimination Act to revenge herself on what is no more than a petty remark worthy of nothing more than a strong denial. If she does, there will be another expensive legal battle, almost certainly at the expense of the long-suffering taxpayer.

The electorate is fed up with local politicians trying to score points from one another. No wonder the electorate stays home on election days.
