Services at the Parish Church: on Remembrance Sunday are Holy Communion at 8am and then the service of Remembrance at the later time of 10.30am, followed by the laying of wreaths at the War Memorial.

Westfield Women’s Institute: holds its AGM this afternoon at 2.15pm in the Parish Hall. The competition is a home-made toy. New members are always welcome; just turn up, or contact the President Val Walkinshaw on 07927 403200 for more information.

Westfield Scout Group: is holding a Jumble Sale in the Community Hall at 2.30pm tomorrow Saturday, November 12. There are always lots of bargains for everyone, and admission is just 20p. They would be very grateful for donations of jumble from 1pm at the Hall, but no large or electrical items, please.

Also tomorrow, The Friends of Westfield Church: invite you to their AGM in the Church at 2.30pm. Our Vicar, Revd. Robert Mulford, will be talking about his ‘Desert Island Discs’.

Westfield Football Club: ends a busy Saturday with their Race Night tomorrow evening in the Parish Hall, from 7-10pm. Admission is £5 per person, and you need to contact Dan on 07899 917952 to book.

Westfield Horticultural Society: is holding a Christmas Floral Demonstration evening on Tuesday, November 29. The cost is £3.50 per person and places must be booked. For more information or to book your place telephone Catherine on 01424 552485.

The Westfield Community Newsletter: should have dropped through everyone’s letter-box by now, and once again is a wealth of information about all that goes on in Westfield. Congratulations to editor Pauline and her team. We do appreciate all the hours of work that goes into this.
