Those who are growing pumpkins for the Great Pumpkin competition should now have selected the pumpkin to grow on. All others must be removed. It is wise to position a bit of stone slab or such like (not glass) underneath it, bearing in mind that it will be heavy when fully grown. It goes without saying that the plant must be kept moist (easy with this spell of weather) with an occasional dose of fertilizer. Don’t forget to find and like Westfield Horticultural Society on Facebook where all the up to date information is available.
