Westfield Parish Church: holds the Service of Remembrance at 10.30am on Remembrance Sunday, followed by the laying of wreaths at the war memorial. As usual there will be Holy Communion at 8am on Sunday and 9.30am on Wednesday. The Daffodil Service was well supported last Sunday (All Souls Day) when many people came to remember and reflect on memories of loved ones no longer with us. Tickets (£10, children £5) are now available for the meal at the Parish Hall on Saturday, November 22.

The Friends of Westfield Parish Church: have their AGM in the church tomorrow, Saturday November 8 at 2pm. Following the formal business, Ruth Carter will be presenting her exhibition ‘Westfield in World War 1’. Tea & coffee will be available. The Friends Christmas Fayre will be held on Saturday November 29 from 10am-12 noon in the Parish Hall. Stalls will include cakes, books, bric-a-brac, wooden items, cards, tombola etc., all in good time for Christmas. Any donations of saleable items or raffle prizes or offers of help will be most welcome; please phone 01424 754355 or email [email protected].

The Friendship Club: meets from 2-3.30pm on Monday, November 10 in the Parish Hall for dominoes, Scrabble, whist, bingo, tea and biscuits. New members are welcome and can find out more from Jean Hobson on 01424 753095.

Westfield Women’s Institute: has its Annual Meeting at 2.15pm on Tuesday, November 11 in the Parish Hall. New members are always welcome; please ring Julie 01424 754013 for more details.

Westfield Newsagent: is now a collection point for myHermes parcels. This is very useful for sending and collecting parcels. Please pop in for more information.

Westfield Scout Group: presents another of its famous Murder Mystery evenings on Saturday, November 15, with the help of Icklesham Players. The event is for teams of about 6 people, and starts at 7.30pm in the Parish Hall. Tickets (£8) include ploughman’s supper, and should be booked in advance. Please bring your own drinks and glasses to help the little grey cells along. Tickets are available from Scout Leaders, Archers Butchers, or ring 01424 754080 or 753684.

Pass and Move: runs football coaching sessions every Saturday at St Leonard’s Academy from 9-10.30am (£3.50) or 9-11.30am (£5) and in Westfield during the week. Westfield Football Club: is still seeking volunteers to help provide local football opportunities at all levels and ages. If you can offer occasional or ongoing support, on or off the pitch, please contact the club secretary [email protected]. The Club is hosting a Race Night at the Parish Hall on Saturday, November 8 from 7-11pm. Entry is £5 including a free draw (on the night) for a bottle of champagne. There will be a bar and snacks available, and funds raised are to support the provision of football for all ages.

A Grand Craft Fair: takes place from 11am-3pm on Sunday, November 23 in Westfield Community Hall, with free entry or donations to St Michael’s Hospice or Ronald McDonald House Charities. For more information please contact Hannah Stone on 01424 755024 or 07800 770025.

Rye and District Association of the National Trust: holds a quiz night for tables of 8 people at 7pm on Saturday, November 15 in Beckley Village Hall.
