What A Waste

TWO artists, whose exhibition at Littlehampton Museum, using waste materials, is proving to be a talking point, will be back there on Saturday to discuss their work.

What a Waste has already been very popular with visitors and Jackie Harford and Karen Moser, two of the three artists contributing to the exhibition, will be at the museum from 2-4.30pm.

Disposable lighters, tumble dryer fluff and a bikini made from seaweed are among the exhibits by Jackie, Karen and Sue Waters.

Said Karen: "My work focuses on waste material which is often overlooked and undervalued, and so aims to encourage an enhanced perception of our environment. The authenticity of the discarded material I use creates a potent key to unlock childhood memories."

Councillor John Singleton, chairman of Littlehampton Town Council's community resources committee, said he was delighted with the popularity of the exhibition.

"I hope that many people will take this opportunity to meet two of the artists and find out more about the work on display. It is fascinating to discover how the work was created and what inspired the artists."

The What a Waste exhibition continues at the museum until February 8, with the usual opening times of Tuesday to Saturday, 10.30am-4.30pm, admission free.
