STAFF and residents at a Littlehampton Nursing Home, this week proved they had not only wheels of steel, but nerves of steel as well.

Battling against the elements, brave fundraisers from the Nightingale Nursing Home took part in a charity wheelchair push for the Macmillan Miles Challenge.

Residents enjoyed more than a little breath of fresh air as they were pushed around the town to raise money for the cancer charity.

Senior care assistant Marion Bazley said sponsor money was still coming in.

She added: "We have absolutely no idea how much we will raise.

"We even hope to take a few more walks providing the weather isn't too bad!"
