Wick Week ‘stunner’ is just weeks away

That’s right, Wick Week is back – and this year features a stunning line-up packed with a total of 54 different events, all crammed into the six-day festival.

The action is set to kick-off on Saturday, July 26, and is once again being funded by Littlehampton Town Council and supported by plenty of organisations from across the community.

The programme will officially launch with an action-packed party at Heo Green on the opening Saturday of the festivities.

Families, residents and other fun-lovers from across the area are invited to attend the free event and try out some of the activities on offer including arts and craft and karate.

The party is taking place between 10am and mid-day.

But there will still be plenty of fun to be had after that. From 12.30pm, the event will morph into the ‘Peace in the Park’ organised by the New Highfields Residents’ Group.

They will be cooking tasty treats from across the globe for revellers to sink their teeth into as well as providing a range of live entertainment.

This year’s festival has been co-ordinated with Wick Information Centre, Wick Traders’ Association, Arun Community Church, Project 82, The Keystone Centre, Inspire Leisure, The Littlehampton Academy, New Highfields Residents’ Group and Arun District Council, and it looks set to feature many family favourites.

Making a welcome return will be the ever-popular Wick’s Got Talent, which will once again be showcasing the skills of Wick’s top performers of all ages.

Other family-friendly events taking place include a film night, youth sessions and exercise classes.

Residents will also have the chance to get stuck into a bingo session.

Councillor Malcolm Bel-
chamber, chairman of the town council’s community resources committee, said the festival was a ‘key event’ for the community. He is urging as many people as possible to come out and support it.
