Attending were a host of Cinque Ports dignitaries assembled in Winchelsea, along with the Lord Warden, Admiral the Lord Boyce.

The day commenced when the Lord Warden, accompanied by Mayor Roger Neaves, the Sergeant-at-Admiralty and 2 Lord Warden Cadets marched to inspect the assembled Rye Sea Cadets and the New Romney Sea Cadets Band.
