In a statement police said: “In particular, officers are keen to talk to youths seen running away from the incident, one of whom stood out because he was wearing a red top.”

A photograph has been released, taken earlier the same afternoon at around 2.45pm by a car’s dashboard camera, which shows a group of youths sitting outside Jordan’s butchers shop nearby.

One of them was wearing a red top and police want to identify group members to see if they know anything about the torched trees or else can be eliminated from enquiries.
