Woman, 69, on assault charge
A 69-year-old woman has appeared in court accused of assaulting a police officer in Herstmonceux.
Brenda Bruce, of Etchingham Road, Langney, Eastbourne, is alleged to have punched PC Ian Carter outside the Woolpack Inn, in Herstmonceux, earlier this month.
No plea to the charge was entered and magistrates at Eastbourne adjourned the case until December 4.
