Woman badly hurt in A26 crash

A woman suffered serious injuries in a crash on the A26 in Ringmer.

The accident happened at around 8pm yesterday (Wednesday) after a collision between a Ford Fiesta and a Vauxhall Astra.

Police close the road for four hours.

The driver of the Fiesta, a 34-year-old woman from the Lewes area, was taken to Eastbourne District General Hospital suffering from serious injuries.

The driver of the Astra, a 45 year old man from Brighton, received minor injuries and was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton.

Sussex Police is appealing for witnesses to the accident and investigators are keen to hear from anyone who saw a silver coloured vehicle, along with the purple Fiesta, travelling northbound on the A26.
