Woman charged with distraction burglary

PUBLICITY about distraction burglaries in Bexhill, particularly against elderly people, has led to police arresting a local woman on suspicion of committing such crimes.

Marilyn French, 32, of Hillside Road, Bexhill, was detained and has been charged with four alleged offences. She has been remanded in custody pending further enquiries.

Meanwhile, Bexhill police wish to hear from anyone in the area '“ pensioners, neighbours, relatives '“ who believe they or someone they know may have been victims of distraction burglary.
