Woman dies in collision on A26 at Newhaven

Sussex Police said a lorry was reported to have been involved in a collision with a pedestrian at 12.04pm.

The force has since confirmed that the pedestrian – a woman in her 70s – was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

Traffic is still disrupted in the Avis Road area, police said, and drivers are recommended to avoid the area at the current time.
