Police are trying to trace her and she was described as white, with light brown hair, of heavy build, 5ft 3in tall and in her 50s.

The clerk of Heathfield Parish Council, Mrs Diana Francis, said the parish council did not allow horse riding on the recreation ground and notices were to be put up at each entrance to make sure there was no misunderstanding about that.

Horse riding there could lead to a potential danger to other users of the ground, including young children, and the pitches could be damaged too. There had previously been complaints about horse riding there.
