Woman rescued from the River Arun

Emergency services, including the Littlehampton coastguard and the town’s lifeboat service, was called to the Arun at about 7.20pm

The woman was quickly recovered from the water by the lifeboat crew.

She was given first aid and then rushed to nearby Caffyn’s field where she was taken to hospital by a team from the Sussex Air Ambulance at about 9pm.

The details of how she ended up in the water are not yet known.
