Ringmer Road is set to be resurfaced between Castle Road and Terringes Avenue in a victory for Tarring Lib Dem councillors Bob Smytherman, Martin McCabe and Hazel Thorpe.

The trio have highlighted the poor condition of the road for several years, joining the Herald & Gazette's Pothole Watch campaign in a bid to galvanise West Sussex County Council into action.

The resurfacing work is scheduled for March 30 in what Martin described as 'a long overdue victory for residents'.

"We're chuffed to bits about this resurfacing work," he said.

"This section of road is an accident waiting to happen. We've been reporting it for years and highlighting the need for resurfacing. Only this week, we reported it again and the huge chunks of tarmac scattered around the road. It's so dangerous.

"We'll be monitoring the resurfacing work and making sure the road is finally fixed. Hopefully this will be the end of it now."
