Trilling songbirds and hunky hopefuls should make a beeline for Churchill Square next Friday (March 10) as The X Factor rolls into town.

The TV talent show is returning to Brighton as part of an audition tour, visiting towns and cities across the UK.

Mark Buchanan-Smith, Churchill Square Centre director, said: “Last year’s event was hugely popular, so we’re incredibly excited to be hosting the X Factor auditions again.

“We know from our recent Busk Stop competition that there are some incredibly talented young bands and singers in the region,” he said, “and X Factor represents a fantastic opportunity for people to show off their talent.

“Everyone at the centre is looking forward to seeing if the next star of tomorrow comes from the area.

“The auditions will be held at a specially-erected performance area in our lower mall, so shoppers will be able to cheer everyone on and give the singers some extra encouragement.”

Auditions are open to groups or individuals aged 16 or over and will take place from 10am until 5pm.

Performers are advised to arrive early to avoid missing out because the auditions will be held on a strictly first come first served basis, and will be in with a chance of auditioning in front of the X Factor judges, when the judges’ auditions take place in summer.
