Yacht rescued by Littlehampton coastguard

Littlehampton RNLI rescued a yacht yesterday afternoon after an engine failure left the boat adrift.

The volunteer crew responded to a VHF call from the 27ft vessel at 5pm on Tuesday April 12 and launched within 15 minutes.

On arrival, the RNLI Atlantic 75 Blue Peter 1 lifeboat was able to tow the yacht and its sole adult male occupant safely to shore.

By 5:54pm, the lifeboat had returned to the station where it was refuelled and made ready for service.
