Young and old on parade

PETWORTH & Pulborough Scout District held its annual St George's Day Parade through the streets of Petworth last week, when Beaver Scouts, Cub Scouts, Scouts and Explorer Scouts, along with their leaders, paraded in bright sunshine through the town to St Mary's Church.

A service of rededication was conducted by Father Tim Wright, who blessed the Fellowship standard.

Stella Ribbens, a Beaver Scout leader from Ifold, was presented with the Silver Acorn by County Commissioner John Spickett. The award is for adults with especially distinguished service to the Scout Movement of not less than 20 years.

The Petworth & Pulborough Scout District is made up of Scout Groups from Ashington, Billingshurst Fittleworth, Ifold, Petworth, Pulborough & West Chiltington, Sullington & Storrington and Wisborough Green.
