Youngsters blossom with pride over silver gilt award

Framed certificates have been presented to those who help keep Aldwick looking special.

The recognition of excellence came from the South and South East in Bloom judges who visited the parish last summer.

They awarded the five certificates to those they considered had done a lot to ensure Aldwick stays green and pleasant.

Their tokens of appreciation were handed over by Aldwick in Bloom volunteer Paul Bignall. They went to those responsible for Marine Park Gardens, Aldwick Duck Pond and Old Manor Cottage in Barrack Lane.

Police community support officer Nick Baker received one for his commitment to dealing with young people to prevent vandalism and Rose Green Infant School completed the list.

The school in Hawkins Close was judged by the assessors to be the greenest school in West Sussex this year as the only one worth silver gilt status. Just the gold level is higher.
