The annual event this year is on Saturday, October 20 at Jubilee Fields - and your child could be the lucky one to start the display.

It is once again supporting Chestnut Tree House and as well as a fun fair and live build-up music from Throbbin Hood, for the first-time, local children can enter a competition to win the chance to press the button to start the fireworks.

Under-tens can submit a drawing of fireworks to organisers at the bar on the night of the display and the best will be judged at 6.30pm and selected to start the show.

There will also be a licensed bar and food on offer. Organisers are also offering limited advanced ticket sales at a significant cost saving.

Billingshurst Firework Committee chairman Kev Tilley said: “We are delighted to once again be hosting the annual display in the village which is being put on by Aurora Fireworks.

“Each year the event gets bigger and better and this year will be no exception with more than ever going on on the night.

“We have also decided to offer advance sales this year so people can get their tickets in advance, but they are going extremely fast, so do not miss out.

“All our sponsors - the Kings Head, Jake’s Cars, Whispers, Chestnut Tree House, Billingshurst Lions Book Shop, Billingshurst Football Club and Jack Fullers - are offering ticket sales and we would like to thank them all for their continued support.”

There are 500 family tickets available on advance sale and limited adult and child tickets. For a family of four the price is £15, for an adult £6 and child £4.

On the day, the prices will be £25 for a family of four, £10 for an adult and £5 for a child.

Gates open at 4.30pm with the display starting at 8pm.
