Zoe's 300-mile challenge from her birthplace in Blackpool to her hometown in Brighton, was spurred on to raise awareness of mental health after her boyfriend died last year.

Starting on Monday (March 5), novice cyclist Zoe left Blackpool covering 70 miles on day one alone. And today, she has 60 miles to cover before a warm welcome home on Brighton Pier.

Zoe said: "It was a very hard day yesterday, I fell into a ditch and I am paying for it today - my legs are very sore. This morning was brutal, it was almost an out of body experience, but the people along the way are so amazing and full of love.

"I lost my boyfriend last year, and I really wanted to do something and find some hope for people that are living with mental illness. To help others find some help and see there are great projects out there. In 2016 over 6,000 people died by suicide. Help is really, really needed.”

Zoe is taking on the Sport Relief challenge to raise money and support vulnerable people, across the UK and the world to live healthier, happier and safer lives.

The TV presenter will be raising awareness of mental health, a subject close to her heart and one of the issues tackled by Sport Relief cash.

Before the challenge, Zoe said: “I’ve been training my heart out for the last few weeks in preparation for this epic BT-sponsored challenge for Sport Relief.

"A few predictable and embarrassing falls and lots of chafing cream applied but thinking of the reason I signed up for this challenging adventure will spur me on.

"Knowing that every penny we raise will make such a difference to so many different people’s lives is a great feeling.
