Birds Of Prey: And The Fantabulous Emancipation Of One Harley Quinn
What is it? Birds of Prey - or, to give it it’s full title, Birds of Prey And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn - will follow on from 2016’s bad guy team up film, Suicide Squad.

Hide AdThis time around, rather than joining forces with a bunch of wanted criminals to take on a pair of mystical siblings, Harley will be joining forces with a bunch of vigilantes to take on a local crime boss named Black Mask.
Having left the Joker on read, Harley is a reformed character who is now looking to turn her talents for violence towards more justified ends.

Daniel Isn't Real
What is it? Patrick Schwarzenegger - yes, he does have a famous dad - stars as Daniel, the imaginary friend of troubled college freshman, Luke.

Parasite
What is it? Bong Joon-Ho's Parasite made history this year, becoming the first Korean film to be nominated for an Oscar.

What is it? Anya Taylor-Joy stars as Emma, the "handsome, clever and rich" protagonist of Jane Austen's classic novel, in which she meddles in the romantic affairs of her friends and loved ones.

The Call Of The Wild
What is it? This live action/CGI crossover film is based on Jack London's 1903 novel of the same name.

Midnight Family
What is it? This documentary follows the Ochoa family, who run a private ambulance service in Mexico City's wealthiest neighbourhoods, competing with other for-profit EMTs for patients in need of urgent help.

Colour out of Space
What is it? Ever since 2018's Mandy, Nicholas Cage has had something of a resurgence, leaning into the hammy over-acting and grotesque facial expressions that made him a meme-worthy star in the first place.
The "Cage-aissance" (as I'm coining it) continues with Colour Out of Space, a sci-fi horror in which Cage plays a secluded family man who's farm is struck by a strange meteorite.

Dark Waters
What is it? Oscar nominated director Todd Haynes will be gutted to have missed out on Awards nominations this year for Dark Waters.
A cinematic retelling of 2016 article "The Lawyer Who Became DuPont's Worst Nightmare", it tells the story of a corporate defence attorney who takes on an environmental lawsuit against a chemical company.

True History of the Kelly Gang
What is it? Based upon the 2000 novel of the same name - itself based on the real-life history of notorious Australian outlaw, Ned Kelly - this crime drama follows Kelly and his gang as they flee from authorities during the 1870s.
It stars 1917's George MacKay as Kelly, and is sure to be an unflinching watch; the BBFC have rated it an '18' and warn of "very strong language and sexual threat".
