5-mile race under starter's orders

The fifth annual Keith Chandler Memorial Five-Mile Road Race will take place tomorrow (Sunday).

The Hastings Runners-organised event will start outside the Town Hall at 10.30am and the leading runners will return there for the finish less than half-an-hour later.

The accurately measured course, which runs along the promenade, is very flat and fast, and it is very open this year in the men's and women's categories which should make for an exciting race.

On-the-day entry can be made in the Town Hall from 9am. Anybody aged 15 or over is welcome to take part and all finishers will receive a memento.

Race director Tony Demarco and his team are very keen for as many people as possible to enter the race since all proceeds will go to St Michael's Hospice.
