More than 270 members and guests attended a gala ball at the Hilton Avisford Park Hotel, where the principal guests were LeRoy Angel, past president of the RFU, and Ken Nicholls, president of Sussex.
Steve Thompson, the England hooker in the 2003 England World Cup-winning side, presented the awards. A special toast was made during the evening to John Norris, club founder, who was unable to attend because of ill health.
