Abbey fly flag in Sunday football final

ABBEY will fly the flag for the Hastings & East Sussex Sunday Football League in the final of the Sussex Sunday Challenge Cup after seeing off local rivals Ridge West Garage in the last four.

Chris Smith opened the scoring at Tilekiln before a Paul Oliver double made the game safe for the Battle based-club. Sweeper David Miller capped a fine display by running the length of the pitch to complete a 4-0 win.

Abbey will meet Mill House in the final at the Sussex FA's Lancing headquarters on March 27. Mill House, who knocked out Hastings League leaders Silverhill Club in the second round, beat Sussex Sunday League title rivals Clifton 1-0 in their semi-final at the weekend.
