ANGMERING STAY IN CHARGE

THE possible Sussex Stoolball League West Division showdown went the way of the reigning champions last Wednesday.

It gave Melissa Mantle's Angmering side a six point lead at the top of the table, while extending their 100 per cent record to 10 games this season.

Mantle with 38 and Karen Chapman, an unbeaten 47, put Angmering on 122, but Trinity could manage only 114 in reply. Carol Nichols made 54 and Julia Binns took 4-63.

Earlier in the week, Angmering had overwhelmed Eastergate with Mantle hitting 94 in a total of 205. Linda Cook top-scored for Eastergate with 49 in a reply of 141.

Trinity beat Clymping by 34 runs after making 150 Nichols again in the runs with an undefeated 60, and Wendy Adams

picking up 5-65 when Clymping batted.
