Aussie all-rounder back at Bexhill

Roberts plays A grade State cricket as a slow left-hand spinner and a prolific batsman. He made three appearances for Bexhill last season while on holiday, scoring 102 runs and taking six wickets.

"You must have an overseas player to compete in the Sussex League," says first team coach Jeff Chinn. "Sam is a three dimensional player as well as a shrewd tactician. He will give us a starting point as we expect to sign several new players before the start of next season."

After three summers of struggle Bexhill expect to be serious challengers in the league next season.

"Our intention is to put the buzz back into Bexhill cricket after a couple of seasons in the doldrums," says Chinn.
