Becky scoops host of top show awards

A CLUSTER of successes at the recent British Show Pony Society World Colour Championships at Addington saw Becky Walter and her colt Firle Golden Eagle scoop most of the top awards.

Also, he won four classes and was supreme coloured champion at Royal London show last weekend.

Becky (21), of Warninglid, has high hopes for the future with this 12.2hh coloured pony, who is only two years old and still an entire colt.

At the World Colour championships he was entered in two in-hand classes- the non-native youngstock, and verified breeding youngstock - and won both finals. He took the Verified Breeding Championship, Youngstock Pony Championship, Supreme Pony of the Year and Supreme Youngstock of the Year titles as well as being Reserve Supreme Champion.

He was bred by Deborah Barr, who also bred his mother Cardells Evangeline, also ridden by Deborah.

"A BSPS Champion, she had a strong career, qualifying for the Horse of the Year show. We were visiting Deborah when he popped his head round the door and I had to have him," said Becky.
