Belcher is back in driving seat for Aldwick CC

It's already a busy time for Aldwick Cricket Club.

They have held their annual meeting, indoor nets are taking place on Sunday mornings, they are finalising details of a week-long tour to Dorset in June, and on March 11, their presentation dinner takes place at Bognor Golf Club.

At the annual meeting, Keelan Belcher retained his position as first-team captain, but he will have new man working by his side as Grant Wilson becomes the new vice-captain.

For the Saturday League seconds, the experienced Dave Robinson returns as captain after a spell out injured. Robinson’s vice-skipper is the equally-experienced Dave Edwards and together they should form quite a formidable team.

For the Sunday sides, Nathan Belcher leads the firsts, Ryan Purvis continues his role developing the Aldwick Acorns and Ollie Smith takes up the reins as midweek skipper.

Chairman Jim Smith remains at the heart of the club with his roles as fixture secretary and Colts co-ordinator. John Heredge continues to oversee everything as president.

Indoor nets take place every Sunday from 10am to midday at Game Set & Match in Chichester. New players are welcome to try out with qualified coaches and a professional bowling machine.

Special guest at the dinner in March will be last year’s big winner, Ian Demers. He suffered horrific leg injuries in a motorcycle accident last year and his team-mates will want to wish him well on a long and painful recovery period.
