BETTSHANGER 26 UCKFIELD 0

UCKFIELD opened their London S/E campaign in disappointing style on Saturday when they made the long trip to Deal with several key players missing through injury.

Against a large Bettshanger pack, Uckfield s youngsters fought hard, but experience told in the end.

Uckfield held their hosts to 6-0 before a shoulder injury to their influential captain and full back Phil Rowland, put them out of the game, and despite their game efforts Bettshanger ran out deserved winners.

Uckfields young side gained a lot of experience from this defeat, and will hope for better things when they entertain Cranbrook at home tomorrow (Saturday).
