Bexhill to host thrilling day of rowing

THE cream of South East coastal rowing will descend on Bexhill for what promises to be a spectacular day of action.

The racing on Sunday June 11 gets underway at 9.30am and a hectic programme of 20 plus events will take up most of the day.

Bexhill will be gunning for victory in a number of categories in the Coast Amateur Rowing Association regatta including all three sculls (novice, junior and senior), junior/senior four, senior four and senior pairs.

Other possible top five finishes could come in the veteran fours, ladies' pairs, ladies' junior four, junior/senior B crew, novice fours, senior B pairs and senior B sculls.

The Hastings Regatta, which was provisionally scheduled for the previous day, has had to be cancelled for the first time since 1868 as a consequence of an internal dispute which caused organisers to resign en masse at the club's AGM early in the year.
